Coup d’etat in Egypt
What lead to the coup?
Egypt has always been a
communist country and the big problem is that Mohamed Morsi is a capitalist so
that is the main reason why the people didn’t like Morsi (mainly the military
forces) as president of Egypt.
The military people said that "did not achieve the goals of the people" during
his single year in office but we all know that this is only an excuse.
Muslim Brotherhood movement,
had rejected an ultimatum delivered by the military’s to solve the crisis in 48
hours. (The military are the most powerful institution
in the country).

Facts about the coup:
- Gen Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, the head of the Armed Forces was the one who lead the coup.
- The coup took place the 4th of July
- About 50 people have died since the revolt that started in Sunday
- The constitution has been suspended and the army is calling for immediate elections
What
triggered the latest protests?
People were concerned about
the lack of effort being done by President Morsi to solve the economic and
social problems Egypt was facing.
On 30 June 2013 there was a
protest organized by the grassroots Tamarod (Rebel) movement. Because of this,
the militars gave Mr. Morsi an ultimatum saying that they were going to do a
coup d’état if he didn’t satisfy the people in 48 hours.

What
happens next to the coup?
After the coup, Mr, Mansour
the chief of justice will become interim president; he along with the
parliament are going to check the constitution and make it simplier so that
there are no weaknesses.
Now they have to assure they
maintain the treaties they had before like the one with Israel promising to
keep peace.
