Bill Gates

William Henry Gates III, better known as Bill Gates, was born in October of 1955 in Seattle, Washington. He is an American inventor, he founded the software Microsoft. This is the largest software company for personal computers. He is always ranked on the list of wealthiest people of the world and between 1995 and 2009, he was actually the wealthiest. When he was working at Microsoft he was the CEO and “chief software architect”. He also was the author of several books.

In 1973 he graduated from Lakeside school. On the SAT he got 1590 from 1600 and entered to Harvard where he met Steve Ballmer, who later becomes CEO of Microsoft (after Bill Gates).But Gates dropped University to start a company. The story of Microsoft starts in 1975, when Microsoft was created by Bill Gates and Paul Allen.

In 2000, he was not longer the chief executive officer of Microsoft, he stayed as chairman. He was going to be working part time job in Microsoft and full time work in Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which is a foundation that received donations for charity organizations and scientific research programs. Ray Ozzie was then chief software officer and Craig Mundie was chief research and strategy officer. Gates maintained his part-time job as non-executive chairman.

Now is one of the best known businessmen who have been part of the personal computer revolution. However the tactics that he used to get to the top have not been accepted, but criticized.

Google

Google is an American corporation of computer software which works as search engine for information of any kind, cloud computing, online advertising, email and social networking.

Google was funded in September 4, 1998 in Menlo Park, California in United States by Larry Page and Sergei Brin while they were PH students at Stanford University. When it was first funded it was a private company but on August 19, 2004 an offer was made to make it a public company.  Their main aim was to “organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful” and so was it.

In 1999 the company moved their offices to Palo Alto, California. In 2003 after growing 2 other locations, Google put and office complex to Silicon Graphics in Mountain View, California.

Currently Google own AdMob, DoubleClick, Motorola Mobility, On2 Technologies, Picnik, YouTube and Zagat and their total operating income is of US$ 12.76 billion.

Microsoft

Microsoft Corporation is an American multinational computer technology corporation, which develops manufactures, licenses and support many software products for computing devices. Currently the best-selling products are Microsoft Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office, which is very useful to the software productivity.

All began on April 4, 1975 when Bill Gates and Paul Allen discovered Microsoft in Albuquerque. In 1980 Microsoft made a partnership with IBM which will make that Microsoft´s operating system will be in the IBM computers and Microsoft Company will receive incomes. In 1985 IBM asked Microsoft to write a new operating system for their computers called OS/2, they wrote it but this brought disadvantages to IBM, because while Microsoft were selling their own product separate from his deal with IBM, OS/2 computers were overshadowed by these sells.  By 1990, 90 % of the world’s population had already installed Microsoft in their computers. This was a great achievement for the company.

By 2008 Microsoft Corporation received US$ 60.4 billion per year and nearly 90,000 employees in 105 countries. As of 2013 Microsoft is a market dominant producing a wide range of software for desktops and servers, making that the incomes increase to US$ 73.72.

Facebook and Youtube

Facebook 

Is a company created by Mark Zuckerberg and founded in February 2004 by Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes and  Dustin Moskovitzthat were his fellow of Harvart university .

Facebook is a social network use toputphotos , videos , chat with friends, find people you , share things , send messages , etc.

You only need your mail adress and by older tan 13 to sign in .

The name Facebook came from ‘’from the book’’ they give the name because the universities use it to help students get to know each other .

January 2009 Compete.com study ranked Facebook as them ostused social network in service by world monthly active users.

Youtube 

Is a video-sharing website created by three former Pay Pal employees in February 2005.

In October 2006, it was acquired by Google Inc. in exchange of 1.65 billion dollars and now operates as one of its subsidiaries.

The company is ubicated on San Bruno, California.

In Youtube you can upload videos,view videos and share videos.

Youtube is very popular because is an easy way you upload videos and shared to the world, many people have become famous for posting videos on youtube.

All YouTube users can upload videos up to 15 minutes each in duration.

In Youtube you can found videoclips, movies, tv shows, etc.
